It is with a heavy heart we were advised World War II POW Vet Edwin “Eddie” Leibbrand has passed away. He was a member of the American Legion’s David Johnston Memorial Post #283 in Pickerington and Baltimore VFW 3761. About 6,000 prisoners – including 3,364 Americans, one of them Leibbrand – were freed when the Stalag IX-B camp was liberated on April 2, 1945.
